Your country isn’t on the Partner Program List?

Here’s how you can get paid instead.

You published an article and got your first 100 followers, as I did, but still Medium refuses to get you into the Partner Program because of your location? We share the same disappointment.

The question that pops up naturally is, should I quit Medium or is it worth it to continue writing and putting in the effort?

I tell you why I haven’t quit here. Here’s why you shouldn’t as well.

If it wasn’t for this article, I wouldn’t have known that there are other ways to get support from readers and supporters. Thanks to Jessica Bugg’s comment that introduced me to Ko-fi.

What is Ko-fi?

Ko-fi is a platform for supporting creators and artists for their work. Your community can “tip” or “donate” to you as a way of appreciation of the value you provide them with your content.

What do you need to set up Ko-fi?

Paypal or Stripe
Hint: you can use your friend’s or relative’s account if that is also unavailable in your country.

How do you let your readers know about it?

Simply add it to the end of every article you post. They also have nice banners that you can add as well, so it is more eye-catching.

Even if you are not being paid directly by Medium, your efforts will be rewarded by your community of readers. Do not give up writing. Your reward will come, even if it’s in a form of a cup of coffee. ☕

If you found this post useful, I’d really appreciate a cup of coffee ☕😊
Your support means a lot.

Support my writing journey
